Told in five separate scenes, The Nutcracker Ballet is the story of a young German girl, Clara, a Christmas gift from her mysterious god father, Drosselmeyer, a Nutcracker Prince and an enchanted journey. Choreography unique to each scene includes some of the best known dancing and most beloved music in all of ballet.
The story opens as guests arrive for a Christmas Eve party at the Stahlbaum house. Drosselmeyer arrives with magical gifts, including a toy nutcracker for Clara.
Clara tip-toes back to the Christmas tree to check on her nutcracker after the party winds down. She falls asleep cradling him in her arms. The clock strikes midnight and the room is invaded by an army of mice led by an evil Mouse King. The Nutcracker wakes and leads his army against the mice.
The Nutcracker is transformed into a handsome Prince (Cavalier). Together, he and Clara embark upon a magical journey to the Land of Snow where they are welcomed by dancing snowflakes.
Awakening from her dream, Clara finds herself back in her own home by her Christmas tree, with her beloved Nutcracker.
